Flights At Logan Airport Grounded Amid Nationwide FAA Computer Outage

Dozens of flights in Massachusetts were delayed after an integral computer system was down across the country.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reported their Notice to Air Missions System (NOTAM) was experiencing an outage on Wednesday morning, Jan. 11, according to the FAA's Twitter.

The outage impacted "operations across the National Airspace System" and forced airlines to pause all domestic flight departures until 9 a.m., the FAA said in a separate Tweet.

At one point, more than 100 flights were delayed at Logan Airport in Boston. Updates on flight cancellations and delays can be found on FlightAware or on Logan's website.

Normal air traffic operations resumed after the system was restored about two hours later, the FAA said. Residual delays were expected as a result.

Currently there is no evidence that the outage was caused by a cyberattack. The FAA will provide updates as they come.
